Night of Jazz and Comedy - Fundraiser

Updated: Aug 6, 2020

Beta Delta Boulé and the Chambers-McCain Foundation hosted its first annual fundraising event called “An Evening of Jazz and Comedy”. An Evening of Jazz and Comedy was held on June 13th, 2019 at the beautiful Mint Museum Uptown, which offered breathtaking views of Uptown Charlotte and beyond. The Mint Museum is a cultural institution in Charlotte with hundreds of collections showcasing art and design from around the globe. Two hundred Archons, Archousai and guests enjoyed an evening of great jazz and comedy, fine food and drink, and wonderful conversations. The evening began with a VIP tour of the Mint Museum to view their fine works of art. After the tour everyone moved outside to the terrace for hors d’oeuvres and jazz music provided by D. Friday, a saxophonist. The evening performances began with The Ocie Davis Quintet, who was voted “Best Jazz Group in Charlotte” and they wowed the audience with wonderful jazz music and was then followed by Ms. Leighann Lord, a veteran stand-up comedian and a very funny lady who had everyone laughing out loud. The evening ended with another set by the Ocie Davis Quintet.
